Meet the Team

Meet the Team at 96th Birmingham Scouts

Group Leadership Team

Our leadership team brings together the Group Lead Volunteer and the Team Leaders from each of our sections — Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Together, they provide direction, consistency and support across the whole group, ensuring that every young person benefits from a high-quality Scouting experience. By working collaboratively, they shape our programme, support our volunteers and help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where young people can grow in confidence, skills and character.

Each of our section teams relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of its team members. Without them, weekly meetings, activities and camps simply would not happen. They give their time, energy and skills to create engaging programmes, support young people individually and ensure everything runs safely and smoothly. As a group, we are incredibly grateful for their commitment — they are the backbone of 96th Birmingham Scouts and fundamental to everything we achieve together.

Our Squirrels Team

Our Squirrels section is where our youngest members begin their Scouting adventure. In our fun-filled, one-hour sessions, Squirrels discover that they can achieve anything they set their minds to — all while having plenty of fun along the way. Through outdoor activities, games, badges and laughter, they build confidence, develop key skills for life and take their very first steps into the world of Scouts, getting ready for the adventure of school too. Behind every session is a dedicated team of leaders who carefully plan and deliver an inspiring, supportive programme that makes it all possible.

Our Beaver Team

Our Beaver section is full of energy, curiosity and adventure. Beavers develop new skills, build friendships and grow in confidence through a varied programme of activities, games, challenges and outdoor experiences. Each week offers opportunities to try something new, work as a team and earn badges along the way. Our dedicated Beaver leaders create a supportive and exciting environment where young people can explore, learn and begin to take on new responsibilities.

Our Cub Team

Cubs take their Scouting journey to the next level, embracing bigger challenges and broader adventures. Through outdoor activities, skills development, teamwork and problem-solving, Cubs build resilience, independence and confidence. Whether working towards badges, learning practical skills or taking part in camps and trips, every experience is designed to help them grow. Our committed Cubs leadership team ensures sessions are engaging, inclusive and packed with opportunities for personal development.

Our Scout Team

Our Scout section empowers young people to lead, explore and challenge themselves. Scouts take greater ownership of their programme, developing leadership skills, teamwork and self-reliance through adventurous activities, community involvement and expeditions. From outdoor challenges to planning their own initiatives, Scouts are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and realise their potential. The Scout leadership team provides guidance, encouragement and structure, helping each young person prepare for the next stage of their journey.
